The first Amppa events were educational and informative ones in order to inform and educate the general public about the programme and the love and appreciation towards our seas.
Events related with the Interreg-Malta AMPPA project started on Sunday 7th August with a boat trip around our beautiful coast. Marine biologist expert Dr Alan Deidun gave some interesting insights about our Marine Potected Areas and the crucial role for the protection of the marine environment. Stops have been made in certain bays and coasts and the participants have been provided with explanatory briefing of the fish and the life under our beautiful seas. A brief info session was also held by Dr Deidun prior the embarkation of the boat trip and an informative flyer was distributed amongs all participants. The boat trip was aimed for the young generation as they represent the future.
